According to Billboard.com, Cardi B was originally going to perform the “WAP” song at the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
There was a change of plans when Cardi said she had a dentist appointment. She posted on her Instagram, "Ugh I was supposed to perform wap at the inauguration today but I had a dentist appointment.”
According to Complex.com, the “WAP’ video collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion with cameos from Kylie Jenner, Mulatto, Rubi Rose, and Normani had a price tag of $1 million. In a Tweet, Cardi posted, "Naaaa honey ....Money cost 400K ,Please me Cost 900K , Wap Cost ($1,000,000)," she responded to a fan.
Cardi B received criticism for not allowing her 2-year-old daughter to listen to the “WAP” song. According to Independent.co, Cardi B has responded to criticism she received after posting a video that showed the rapper not allowing her two-year-old daughter to listen to her song “WAP”.
Cardi B shared an Instagram Live video in December which showed her dancing at home to the chart-topping single. Once she noticed her daughter enter the room, she quickly stopped the song. There has been debate surrounding the track’s explicit lyrics and has received condemnation from Candace Owens and Ben Shapiro, among many others.
